Additional Donation in May!!
On May 11, 2012, we presented a $5,000 check for the Archdiocesan Seminarian Fund to His Excellency, Archbishop George J. Lucas. We are so thankful for the enthusiasm surrounding this project which, to date, has raised $20,000 for the Archdiocese of Omaha Seminarian Fund. We hope this project will continue to grow by fostering more vocations, increasing prayers for our priests and raising even more funds to support our current and future seminarians.
Another Donation in October!!
On October 8, 2010, a check of $10,000 for the Archdiocesan Seminarian Fund was presented to His Excellency, Archbishop George J. Lucas. The check brings the total donation to the Seminarian Fund to $15,000!!! Archbishop Lucas gratefully accepted the check and told the young people present that he hopes they will remain open to whatever vocation God will call them We send many thanks to everyone who continues to support this wonderful project.
First Donation to Seminarian Fund
At the August 12th Priesthood Card Extravaganza, we made our first donation of $5,000 to the Archdiocese of Omaha Seminarian Fund. We were excited to be able to present the check to Fr. Joseph Taphorn with several priests and seminarians present. We are so thankful to everyone who has supported this project.
Please continue to pray for our priests!!
What are Priesthood Cards?
Priesthood Cards are the brainstorm of four moms from the Archdiocese of Omaha. They were created to introduce young people to the ordinary men of the priesthood who have generously answered an extraordinary call from God. The cards feature a photo on the front and "Sacramental Stats" on the back. Sacramental stats may include childhood parish, seminary, favorite prayer, hobbies, shortest homily, favorite meal, and more. Collectors are encouraged to acquire a complete set of cards - one card for each of the 121 priests in the collection. It is our hope, that by learning about the person behind the vocation, young people will pray more fervently for priests and will prayerfully consider the vocation that God has chosen for them.
